Since the news emerged about my referral of Dr Hilary Cass to the GMC, I have been moved by the depth and courage of the responses I have received. These are not abstract arguments or policy positions, but real accounts from real people whose lives and care have been profoundly affected.
What strikes me most is the consistent theme running through these voices: a need to be heard, to have their experiences validated, and to know that their concerns are being taken seriously. These stories matter because they reflect the human reality behind the headlines and the regulatory processes.
I have gathered some of these voices here because I believe they deserve to be read and reflected upon. They speak to why this work matters, and what is at stake when we discuss transgender healthcare and clinical governance.
