When schools support trans children, everyone thrives
A school trip story shows what happens when trans children are simply allowed to be themselves.5 March 2026
Jo asked me where the article was about the trip that went brilliantly, and here it is. These stories matter because they show us something we don't hear often enough: what actually happens when schools get it right.
When institutions stop treating trans children as problems to be managed and start treating them as children who deserve the same kindness, inclusion and ordinary joy as their peers, something shifts. The children come home happy. The staff report that it was straightforward. The other families never made it a thing.
If you have stories like this, I want to hear them too. The positive experiences, the moments when a school, a teacher, a parent, or a community simply allowed a trans young person to be themselves and got to witness what thriving actually looks like. Please share your experiences with me.
