A gorgalicious diva — and why that matters

Helen reflects on an unexpected compliment and what it reveals about authenticity and self-expression.

It is not often that someone calls me a gorgalicious diva, and I have to say it rather made me smile. The term felt warm, affectionate even, and it prompted me to think about what it really means to show up as yourself in the world.

There is something rather important happening when we allow ourselves to be fully present, unapologetically ourselves. Whether that looks like confidence, flamboyance, or simply refusing to shrink, it matters for our wellbeing and for those around us who might need permission to do the same.
